Malta Car Rental Terms

The terms and conditions applicable to the hire of our rental vehicles is set out below.
Please read this section carefully.

All car rental charges are in Euros.

Rates include:

Rates NOT include:

Fuel Supplied with the car: 1/2 tank 20 Euros - 35 Euros
CDW & TDW to reduce the excess: 7.00 Euros / day
Personal Accident Insurance: 3.50 Euros / day
Additional Driver Insurance: 3.50 Euros / day
Baby Seat Rental: 4.00 Euros / day
Roof Rack Rental: 5.00 Euros / day
Airport Delivery / Collection: 7.00 Euros each way
Malta Delivery / Collection: 7.00 Euros each way
Island of Gozo Delivery / Collection: 30.00 Euros each way
Out of Hour Delivery (Between 7pm and 7am): 8.50 Euros one time fee

Please note that the quotes displayed by the online booking system does include the delivery and collection fees. The options to add CDW & TDW, additional drivers, baby seat and roof rack are also available in the online booking system.

Standard Car Rental Terms

Our rental cars are available to persons between the ages of 21 and 75. Under our standard car rental terms the hirer will receive with the rental vehicle the following benefits:
• Fully comprehensive car insurance
• Unlimited mileage
• 24-hour accident roadside assistance
• Half tank of fuel
• Delivery & collection of vehicle to and from a specified location in Malta

Car rental is subject to the hirer presenting a full driving license for inspection upon delivery of the vehicle. Drivers between the ages of 21-24 and 71-75 may be required to pay an additional daily charge and accept liability for higher insurance excesses in the event of damage being sustained to the car in an accident.

Booking rates on our site apply only to Internet bookings made in advance. Last minute bookings and rentals arranged locally are subject to higher rental fees. We therefore strongly recommend that customers book well in advance using our Internet site in order to obtain the best car rental price.

Car Insurance

Cars are provided with fully comprehensive insurance as standard. Our policy covers the insured for damage to the car resulting from an accident, vandalism, fire or theft. In the event of car damage the insured will be liable to pay an excess charge. This varies according to the type of rental car hired and the driver's age. Typical excess charges are in the region of €500 - €700

Included as part of the fully comprehensive insurance package is 24-hour accident roadside assistance. In the event of an accident involving the rental car, the hirer is required to contact us immediately. A police report must be filed and we may request that an insurance claim form be completed. Any excess payment the hirer is liable for under these terms and conditions must be settled at this point also.

Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) & Theft Damage Waiver (TDW) (Optional)

All car hirers are eligible for our optional CDW & TDW insurance package. This CDW & TDW package removes 75% excess costs.. The cost of the CDW & TDW insurance package is €7.00 per day for Groups A-H and €9.00 per day for Group L.

Personal Accident Insurance

Our personal accident insurance policy covers the driver and his/her passengers for medical expenses and associated costs arising from injuries sustained in an accident involving the rental vehicle. Cover is authorized up to a pre-determined amount in accordance with the vehicle's insurance policy. The cost of personal accident insurance cover is €3.50 per day. It covers the drivers and passengers of the rented car in case of injury or medical expenses up to a limit of €12,000 (an excess of €125 is applicable).

Security Deposit

In the event of damage being caused to the car, the hirer is responsible for all non-waivable excesses. The hirer is also responsible for all fines and penalties issued to them and arising out of use of the rental car. A security deposit is required as insurance against non-payment of these costs. The hirer will therefore be required to present a valid credit card upon delivery of the rental car on which the security deposit may be held. This applies to all hirers regardless of their method of payment for the vehicle.

Optional Additional Costs

Additional Drivers: The hirer may add additional drivers to the rental agreement upon collection of the vehicle. Additional drivers are added at a cost of €3.50 per day. All additional drivers must present a valid driving licence at the time or rental.
Child Seats: The hirer may add child seats to their rental agreement at a cost of €4.50 per day. All child seats conform to legally recognized standards and are suitable for children from 6 months to 8 years. Renters must attach / fasten any child seat themselves as our staff will not be held responsible for fixing baby seats to the cars.

Fuel

All hire cars are supplied with a half tank of fuel. This is charged to the hirer upon delivery of the vehicle. Customers are advised to return their rental vehicles with an empty tank. No refund will be issued for unused fuel. Any remaining fuel in the tank will be taken as a "thank you" gesture.

Delivery and Collection of Rental Car

Delivery and collection to or from any hotel or address on Malta mainland during working hours is charged at €7.00 each way.
Delivery and collection to or from any hotel or address on the island of Gozo during working hours is charged at €30.00 each way.

The hirer is required to return the vehicle at the time agreed. A one-hour grace period is granted on late returns, after which we reserve the right to impose a late delivery charge equivalent to a full day's extra hire. Should the car be returned late without prior warning, the hirer may be liable to additional collection and administration charges.

Delivery Timing

Whilst every effort is made to deliver the rental vehicle to a specified location on time, circumstances beyond our control may prevent us from doing so. It is suggested that customers allow an additional 20-minutes for the arrival of their rental vehicle before contacting us. This applies only to hotel deliveries and airport deliveries where the flight lands ahead of schedule.

Cancellation Policy

A full refund equivalent to any deposit and charges prepaid will be issued upon cancellation of a booking if the notification to cancel is received at least 10 days in advance of the hire commencement date. If cancellation is received within the 10 days immediately prior to the hire commencement date we reserve the right to impose a cancellation fee.
